VCE Study Camp

Ms Lisa Dunne

The VCE class of 2025 started the school year together on Year 12 study camp, at La Trobe University Campus.

Students engaged in a variety of presentations on topics including expectations and protocols at VCE, student wellbeing, research-based study and revision techniques, careers advice delivered by Jane Alexander and how to navigate VCE English in a masterclass delivered by a VCAA VCE English consultant, Felicity Williams. A number of Year 12 students from the class 2024 also returned to share their wisdom with the class of 2025.

In addition, students were involved in a range of activities including a tour of La Trobe University Campus, team building, and Ms Frazer’s trivia and team challenges. Who would have thought eating two dry Weet-bix is so hard?!  A highlight for many on camp were the contributions of Leigh-Roy and Yazan in the personal goal setting session. If you need a lesson in focusing on your future, talk to them!

Students stayed on Campus at La Trobe overnight.  It would be remiss of me not to mention the heat and the lack of aircon on the night, culminating in sleepless nights for a few. Though, the heat was resilience building with our camp mantra becoming ‘if we can get through a night this hot, we can get through Year 12'.

Thank you to all of the Greensborough College Staff who assisted in organising and running this event for Year 12 students. We believe it was a very worthwhile experience and we look forward to the many other milestone and rite of passage events that will take place with this fantastic cohort throughout the course of this year.
