Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

WELCOME
A big welcome to all the new Parents, Guardians and Carers in our community and a welcome back to all the Parents, Guardians and Carers from 2025. We have been working hard to prepare for the return of our students and it is great to actually be able to have students return and start the new year. Our College has continued to grow in number with our student numbers reaching over 1,000 for the first time in many years. As the community grows we desire to continue to be a community that knows and cares for every single member of the Nazareth family. We look forward to 2026 being a year of us all growing in Faith, Wisdom and Knowledge.
PARTNERSHIP
As the year begins we desire to further develop and strengthen our relationship with families and support Parents, Guardians and Carers as the primary educators of your children. In order to do this we need to work closely together. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Pastoral Teacher if you have any questions, concerns or if there is any information that you can chare that may help us better care for and support your child in their learning.
YEAR 7 STUDENTS
Our Year 7 students have made a very positive start which has been great to see. Well done to these students and to their families. It can be a difficult time starting at a new school so to the Year 7 students and to all students new to Nazareth we welcome you and encourage you to please come forward to staff if there are any questions, issues, etc so as we can support you.
For our Year 7 students we have employed past students in the role of a Year 13, 2026 student for the first two full weeks to be an extra support. They are there to help and guide our students and answer any questions, so Parents, Guardians and Carers please advise Year 7 students to utilise our Year 13, 2026 students.
CHILD SAFETY
At Nazareth College we take Child Safety very seriously. If you ever have any concerns or questions in relation to Child Safety please do not hesitate to contact myself or Ms Jackie Kol Director of Student Wellbeing. We are currently filling positions for the 2026 Child Safety Team to join Ms Kol and myself and will inform of the new team in the next newsletter.
STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
You will be aware that we sent numerous letters last year re student expectations and our desire to further improve the school. We made some good progress last year, but still desire to improve further. This has been part of our assemblies and conversation with the students as we move forward in 2026 as a community that is growing and improving. We thank Parents, Guardians and Carers for their support of their children with organisation, College expectations and uniform etc. There has been a noticeable improvement in student punctuality, readiness to learn and wearing of the college uniform etc which is pleasing. We look forward in hope to this continuing to improve.
