Principal's Report

Happy New Year to all members of our Nazareth community!

As we begin 2026, we introduce our school theme for the year:

GRATITUDE

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

We give thanks for the safe return of our staff and students, and we are truly grateful to continue serving this vibrant community in 2026. We were delighted that our Principal,

Mr Sam Cosentino, was able to greet our new students last Friday. We wish him well as he takes some leave and we look forward to his return.

The beginning of the school year is always filled with energy and optimism. Staff returned on Monday 19 January, with the remainder joining us on Tuesday 27 January. The joyful buzz in the Staff Room was a wonderful reminder of the strong collegial spirit at Nazareth. It was equally uplifting to welcome students back on Friday and Monday, all looking refreshed, enthusiastic, and ready to learn.

A particularly warm welcome goes to our Year 7 students and all new members of our community. New members of staff are as follows:

Our Key Priorities for 2026

This year, our work will be guided by three strategic priorities:

  1. Growing as a Missionary Faith Community
  2. Quality Teaching and Learning
  3. Strengthening Our Community Through Engagement and Empowerment

These priorities underpin our 2026 Annual Action Plan and shape our shared mission.

As Acting Co‑Principals, our goals are simple and clear:

  • All members of our community will learn and grow.
  • Nazareth will continue to flourish as a faith-filled community.
  • Students will engage deeply in their learning.
  • Teachers will teach with excellence.
  • Leaders will support teachers wholeheartedly.
  • We will all strive for consistency in our practice and expectations.

Facilities and Upgrades

Over the holiday period, several improvements and maintenance projects were completed. ICT rolled out new desktop computers, new outdoor seating has been installed, and a range of repairs and renovations took place. We extend our sincere thanks to both the ICT and Maintenance teams for their hard work and dedication.

Construction of the new Student Hub has also progressed steadily. We were privileged to participate in a site inspection last week, and we are confident that the new facilities will be outstanding additions to the school.

Looking Ahead

We extend our gratitude to all staff for the work they have undertaken to ensure a positive and smooth start to the school year. We look forward to welcoming parents and students to the Year 7 Information Night and the VCE / VCE VM Information Nights next week.

Wishing everyone a rewarding and faith‑filled year ahead.
