It has been so wonderful to see so many smiling faces as I walk around our school. 2026 is set to be a great year with many events already being planned!

Thank you so much to all the students who represented our school at a Mass to celebrate Candlemas on Monday evening. At this Mass the candles we will use in our school throughout 2026 were blessed by Father Greg. Our school leaders and their siblings represented our school at this Mass with pride.
DON’T MISS THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY
VISITING EXHIBITION: THE SHROUD OF TURIN
Thursday 26 Feb and Friday 27 Feb our parish hosts the powerful travelling exhibition “The Man of the Shroud”, sponsored by Aid to the Church in Need. This is not just another display: it is an invitation to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ’s suffering and death in Lent.
At the heart of the exhibition is a life-size replica of the Shroud of Turin: a 14-foot linen cloth bearing the image of a tortured and crucified Jesus. Scientific and forensic studies of the Shroud demonstrate bloodstains and markings consistent with severe pre-crucifixion scourging, a crown of thorns, crucifixion wounds, and a spear thrust to the chest: the very kind of suffering the Gospels record of Jesus.
Alongside the replica are faithfully reproduced instruments of torture and crucifixion: scourges, thorns, nails and other implements used in Roman executions. These are presented not as gruesome curiosities but as tools for prayerful reflection: to help us, in this Lenten season, stand with the Saviour in his suffering.
As you contemplate these images and objects, together with informative displays, be conscious that the world’s Christians today still bear witness to Christ in the face of real persecution and suffering. According to the latest World Watch List, more than 388 million Christians worldwide live in situations of high persecution and discrimination for their faith. That’s roughly 1 in 7 believers globally. Open Doors reports that violence and discrimination against Christians continue to worsen in many regions.
This is not distant history. Christians today are imprisoned, tortured, kidnapped and killed because of their allegiance to Jesus. In parts of Africa, Asia and the Middle East, believers face daily threats to their lives and freedom.
Kenna Hall — Open to the public
St Joseph’s Church — Prayer and Reflection
On Friday evening, the Shroud replica and instruments of the Passion will be placed in St Joseph’s Church as aids to contemplation:
This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see and ponder what Christ endured, and to link his suffering with the trials of Christians today. Make time for this. Invite others. Let it shape your Lent and deepen your prayers for the suffering Church around the world.
As this exhibition can be quite confronting, only our Year 6 students will be visiting on Frday the 27th of February.
