Graduate Outcome Awards

Our first Graduate Outcome awards for 2026 were presented at last week's assembly. Students from Grades 1-6 were presented with their Courage awards for being people who are inclusive, and make responsible choices, even when it’s difficult. Congratulations to all recipients!

Our next focus will be on the Graduate Outcome of RESPECT.

Students who graduate from St Therese’s Primary School are people of RESPECT, who show respect for life, self, others, the wider community and environment.

St Therese's Swimming Carnival - Yr's 3 to 6

The Swimming Carnival is fast approaching. It will be held at Bendigo East Swimming Pool (31 Lansell Street) on Thursday, 12th February.

Our Year 3 students and new students in Years 3-6 will be experiencing their very first Swimming Carnival this year! To help them feel confident and excited, PE teachers Mrs Woods and Mr McInnes will be chatting with the students beforehand about what to expect.

The Swimming Carnival is all about having fun, giving it a go and earning house points - regardless of swimming ability. Most students will participate in 25 metre and novelty events, where they can swim aided or unaided and earn points simply by getting in the water.

Students who would like to compete in 50 metre events for double house points can do so, provided they can swim the distance unaided, without stopping and with correct technique.

All information regarding the Swimming Carnival can be found in the flyer below or feel free to contact me via email at mwoods@stkennington.catholic.edu.au.

To prepare your child for the swimming carnival, particularly those in Year 3 who haven't experienced it before, check out our social story below.

Students may dress in their house colours, with bathers worn underneath so they are ready to swim upon arrival.

Please ensure your child brings a school bag containing: a towel, goggles, underwear to change into after swimming, sunscreen and a school hat. Along with sufficient water, lunch and snacks.

Sandals/thongs may be worn to school for travel to and from the pool.

Please ensure all items are clearly labelled.

SSV Division Swimming

A decision has been made that the Bendigo Catholic Schools Swimming Championships will not go proceed in 2026.

Therefore, the next level of competition for our students will be the SSV Sandhurst Division Swimming Championships held on Friday 27th February 2026.

Our school will only be able to send through 1 swimming competitor in each age group and gender per event. Swimmers can only compete in a maximum of 2 individual events, 1 relay and 1 medley relay.

However, swimmers must meet the qualifying times with correct stroke technique. Therefore, times and places from our swimming carnival on Thursday will determine which students will progress to the SSV Sandhurst Division Swimming Championships.
