Junior School

On Friday 7 November, our Prep students had a visit from a kindergarten called,'Little Assets'. After having a tour of our school grounds, visiting with the chickens and reading a story together, the Prep students each chose a kindergarten child to sit with and complete some craft activities. It was really lovely to see the Prep students step up into their roles as 'mentors' and it was clear that many of them felt very proud and honoured to do so.
At the end of the session, we ran a Question & Answer session with the Kindergarten students asking the Prep students all about school, including how much outside play time do they get, do they get to learn about different sports, how many teachers will they have and what sorts of food you pack for your lunchbox!
In last week's Buddy Session, the senior students ran a series of sport activities to strengthen the skills of the Prep students. There was a focus on learning to skip using a skipping rope, learning to kick a soccer ball into a goal, learning to shoot a hoop in basketball and using a hula hoop. The Prep students had a blast - and I think the senior students did as well.
Well done Buddy Captains!
