The school community is looking forward to our pilgrimage to St Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday 14 November. We will travel by train from Ashburton to Parliament Station then walk to the cathedral. Each class will have the opportunity to explore the outside and inside of the cathedral as well as the gardens. We will celebrate the 1.00 pm Mass with the cathedral clergy along with Fr Darien and Deacon Malcolm. At the conclusion of Mass we will return by train to St Michael’s.
The purpose of our pilgrimage is to celebrate the 2025 Jubilee Year as a school community in the mother church of the Melbourne Archdiocese.

As part of our learning related to the Jubilee Year and its theme Pilgrims of Hope, each student was asked to decorate a footstep with their name and personal hope. These are displayed on the windows facing into the quadrangle. It is pleasing to see the students read the hopes of the other students. We welcome others to find the time to read the hopes and say a personal prayer for your own hope.
We pray that St Michael and St Mary of the Cross MacKillop watch over us on our pilgrimage.
Pope Leo XIV has asked the world to pray for the prevention of suicide in our world.
Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray Pope Leo's Prayer Intention for the month of November. Thank you.
For the prevention of suicide

Let us pray that those who are struggling with suicidal thoughts might find the support, care, and love they need in their community, and be open to the beauty of life.
Amen
