Griffith Business Ambassadors Program

A select number of Year 9 and 10 students from Mt A had the wonderful opportunity to visit Griffith University for a day, where they explored pathways within a Business degree, including the various majors, future career options, and opportunities for scholarships and leadership programs. I was incredibly proud of how they represented the College; their willingness to contribute to discussions, engage with students from other schools, and think creatively about the potential challenges of university life was outstanding. They greatly appreciated the advice and tips shared by university staff and current students, which gave them a clearer understanding of what to expect in the years ahead. Thank you to our Head of Careers, Lauren Cowburn for presenting this opportunity to our students.

Student Reflections
The Griffith Business Ambassadors Program was an amazing opportunity to explore future careers in the fields of business, economics, finance, and commerce. The program enabled us to participate in a range of activities, workshops, and informative sessions that offered valuable insights into future work and the diverse opportunities a degree in Business enables. These experiences helped deepen our understanding of business-related careers and how business principles can be applied in the real-world to really make a difference. I particularly enjoyed being able to connect with like-minded people who enthusiastically shared their journey in the business world and hearing from current students and past alumni also gave an insight into university life. Overall, the Griffith Business Ambassadors Program was an enriching experience providing insight into the exciting possibilities this field can offer. I am very grateful to have had this opportunity and feel excited to explore careers in this dynamic field. (Ava - Year 10)
Dr Ryan Gould, Director of the Griffith Business School, spoke about tertiary life from a business perspective and provided guidance on possible career pathways in the field. We explored career paths that align with our individual interests and values. There was also a panel session featuring alumni and current student leaders, where we had the opportunity to ask questions about our concerns, fears, and the opportunities that come with university life. Lastly, we participated in a university experience session, which included Economics in Action and a visit to the Trading Room. In Economics in Action, we examined the supply and demand challenges in Australia’s housing market and developed strategies to address increasing demand and limited supply. During our visit to the Trading Room, we gained insight into the complexity of trading and the scale of the share market. Chloe, Lilia and Clarissa (Year 9)
