Foundation

Foundation students have been busy continuing their imaginative world-building projects. They are adding new drawings to their artist books, showing special places, creatures, and symbols from their make-believe worlds. Alongside this, they have started learning the first rules of working with clay and have begun painting their dried pieces. Next week, they will glue any pieces that have fallen off and work on strengthening unfired clay creations.

Year 1

Year 1 students are continuing to develop their imaginative world designs, adding more detail and colour to their drawings. They are thinking carefully about how stories and family traditions can be represented through symbols and settings. Students are also exploring clay work, using their understanding of form and texture to complement their drawing projects.

Year 2

Year 2 students are refining their drawings and experimenting with ways to show movement, texture, and space in their imaginative worlds. As they explore clay, they are learning how different hand-building techniques can bring their creative ideas to life in three dimensions.

Year 3

Year 3 students are adding depth and personality to their imaginative world designs using a variety of drawing materials. Their clay work is helping them think about structure and form, inspiring new ideas for their landscapes, creatures, and architecture.
