Foundation
Foundation students have continued working on their catching and throwing skills, using different sized balls to challenge their coordination and control. They’ve shown great improvement in using two hands to catch and are developing confidence in their throwing accuracy.
Year 1
Year 1 students have continued their Athletics unit, focusing on improving their running technique and learning how to jump and land safely. Their enthusiasm and willingness to have a go has been fantastic to see each session. They also took part in fun relay races involving jumping, throwing, and running, where they showed great energy, teamwork, and a healthy competitive spirit.
Year 2
Year 2 students have returned to their Athletics focus after completing their swimming program. They have been learning how to throw a discus safely and effectively, concentrating on their grip, stance, and follow-through. It’s been great to see their coordination and confidence grow as they practise this new skill. Students have also had opportunities to practise the long jump, triple jump, and shot put, building on their previous learning and continuing to develop their overall athletic ability.
Year 3
Year 3 students have begun their Cricket unit, focusing on the fundamentals of bowling. They have been practising their run-up, arm action, and aim while learning about teamwork and fair play in small group activities. We began by practising with a partner, then progressed to bowling at the wickets. To extend the challenge, students worked together to remove a stump each time they successfully hit one, demonstrating great focus and improvement as a group.
Year 4
Year 4 students have continued developing their Cricket skills, this time putting their batting and fielding into more game-like situations. They have been working on positioning themselves effectively in the field, communicating with teammates, and making quick decisions during play. During batting activities, students have focused on watching the ball closely, timing their shots, and running between the wickets with confidence. It has been great to see their understanding of the game grow each session, along with their teamwork, encouragement, and enjoyment of friendly competition.
Year 5
Year 5 students have continued their Rugby unit, refining their passing and evasive movement through a range of modified team games. They have been practising quick decision making, using effective communication, and supporting teammates to create space and maintain possession. Students have shown great determination and enthusiasm during game play, applying their skills under pressure and demonstrating excellent teamwork. It has been fantastic to see their confidence grow and their understanding of Rugby tactics develop with each session.
Year 6
Year 6 students have taken part in a fun and strategic game of Capture the Flag, which challenged their communication, teamwork, and tactical thinking. It has been great to see them working together, showing leadership and fair play throughout the game. They also completed their Netball unit, continuing to develop their teamwork and understanding of player positions. Students were given opportunities to umpire, score, and manage games, demonstrating responsibility and confidence in different roles.
Our second photo might look like students are simply standing still, but it actually shows our Year 6 girls using strategies to guard the ‘jail’ and prevent their classmates from being rescued.

Health Tip of the Fortnight
Staying healthy can be fun! This fortnight, why not try:
Eating a rainbow: Include fruits and vegetables of different colours at every meal.
Getting active together: Go for a walk, ride your bike, or play a game in the backyard.
Drinking plenty of water: Keep your body hydrated, especially as the weather warms up!
Even small healthy habits each day make a big difference to energy, mood, and overall wellbeing.
