Principal's Report

Dear CPS Community,
Last Tuesday 11th November we gathered together with hearts full of gratitude, remembering those who have sacrificed their lives for the peace and freedom we cherish. Our Remembrance Day ceremony was held in our school gym and led by our Junior School Council with the support of Ms Yildrim and Ms Amador. They all did a wonderful job!
We give thanks for the courage and dedication of those who served, who stood for justice, for honour, and for hope in the face of darkness. May their legacy inspire us to work for a world where peace prevails.
We know that parents/carers and students are always keen to see the teaching arrangements for the new school year, and we look forward to sharing this with you in Week 10. Students will have an opportunity to find out their 2026 teacher and class on our Whole School Transition Day on Tuesday 9th December. More information regarding details of our Transition Day will be shared via Compass.
The placement of students each year is a task that our staff takes very seriously, with the learning and wellbeing of each individual student considered. Classes have been formed by teachers, our wellbeing team and school leaders. Due to the many variables and delicate balance of each class, we consider the 2026 class placements as final.
We have a high level of confidence in our leadership and teaching teams to make decisions based on the best outcomes for all of our students and trust our students will settle well into their new classes in 2026. Ahead of our Whole School Transition Day, we ask families to support the informed decisions of our staff and ensure all conversations with their children regarding their 2026 class placement are positive and encouraging.
Our class structure for next year is as follows:
2 x Prep classes
2 x Year 1 classes
3 x Year 2 classes
2 x Year 3 classes
3 x Year 4 classes
3 x Year 5 classes
3 x Year 6 classes
