Share your views to help make our school safer

As recently shared via Compass, a reminder that the Department of Education is inviting parents and carers to take part in an online survey about how schools can be better protected from harmful behaviour by adults—both on school grounds and online.

This includes abusive, aggressive or disruptive behaviour, including on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

The survey will help the department:

  • Understand community attitudes around this issue
  • Explore whether stronger protections are needed for school communities

The survey closes at 11:59 pm on Monday 10 November 2025.

At Buninyong Primary School, we are committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members of our school community. We support efforts to prevent harmful behaviour by adults—both in person and online.

We encourage all parents and carers to share their views by taking part in the survey.

To access the survey, refer to Keeping school staff safe onsite and online on the Engage Victoria website.

Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe and respectful. Please see your Compass newsfeed for more information if required.

Student Dress Code

A reminder that we expect all students to be in full school uniform while at school.

Please make sure that any non–school-branded items are plain (logo-free) and meet our uniform guidelines, which can be found here: https://buninyongps.vic.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/BPS-Uniform-Guidelines-2022.pdf

Overall, students have been doing an excellent job wearing their uniform - thank you!

However, we’ve noticed a few items creeping in that don’t meet our guidelines, including:

  • Shorts that aren’t school shorts or have visible logos
  • Socks with patterns or logos
  • Bike shorts being worn as outerwear (these may only be worn under a dress or pinafore)

Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring all students wear the correct school uniform each day.

We are very proud of our school and the reputation we have earned for excellence in education. The wearing of school uniform is one way we actively demonstrate our pride and our belonging.
