Principal's Report

COLOUR RUN

Excitement levels were certainly high last Friday, and the kids loved the colour run experience.  There was a real carnival atmosphere with so many parents in attendance, along with the local CFA members spraying some water around to add to the fun.

Thanks again to Jarrod Rodgers who put a lot of time and effort into planning and running the event.  A big thank you to parents for supporting the event by sponsoring your children and helping them get sponsorship from others.  Everyone should be proud of how everything panned out.

Apart from all the fun that was had, the event will finish up raising close to $20,000 which will go towards efforts to insulate the gym, while also supporting our involvement in Energy Breakthrough.

Have a look at the photos here and there are more on the Colour Run page.

GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY

A reminder to everyone that we have our Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday November 28, which will come around fast.  This is always a big event and one of the highlights on the school calendar.

If your children have grandparents that can attend, please invite them along, but if not, they are welcome to invite anyone else that is special to them…that might even be you.

Our guests are invited to come along between 9:00am and 11:00am to visit classrooms and we will have people around to help visitors find the relevant classrooms.  Our teachers will organise activities during this time that allow our grandparents and special friends to get involved.

At 11:00am our visitors will be invited to the BER for some morning tea and a chat.  In the past we have had parents bring along a plate, resulting in an amazing spread for our grandparents to enjoy.  We’d like to do the same again and invite all families to send something along.  We also need a few adults to help organise and serve morning tea.  Please let the ladies in the office know if you are able to help.  We’ll be looking for helpers between 10:00am and midday, but any help during that period would be appreciated.

PRE-SCHOOLER PROGRAM

Well done to our Prep Team (both campuses) who have been hosting kinder students over the past four weeks as part of our Pre-Schooler Program.  This is an important part of the transition process for next year’s preps, helping them to feel comfortable and confident in the school environment.  As always, members of our Grade 6 Transition Team have been a big help and enjoyed being involved.

ORGANISING CLASSES FOR 2026

Term 4 is slipping by and next month the process of organising students into classes for next year will begin.  If there are significant issues we need to be aware of when allocating your child to a class, please make sure they have been made known to Nicole, Narelle or myself by Friday, November 14. Teachers will be meeting soon after to begin sorting children into classes.

It is not our intention to provide parents with the opportunity to select a teacher of choice.  We have developed a very strong teaching team and parents can be confident the needs of their child will be met by any member of our team.

Developing well-balanced classes is best for everyone and that can be made difficult if there are large numbers of requests – as such, it is important that placement requests be founded on significant reasons and not related to specific teachers.

We try to accommodate parent requests relating to student placements, but you will understand this is not always possible.

It is also important when we come to organise classes that we know of students who will not be at our school next year. If your family is moving on, please let us know as soon as possible.
