During the past few weeks, our students have been learning about creating simple but effective ideas and how to organise in a story. Through the work we have done with our mentor text "The Treasure Box", we have broken down what the idea was (War) and how it was organised through an enticing start, structure of the body (zooming in and out) and ending with a sense of resolution.
We are happy with our student output and what they have achieved in their final pieces!
In the last few weeks, we have been trialling something new with our mathematics. We have been exploring the Big Idea concept which implements multiple areas of the curriculum into concepts where our students are exposed to many ways to solve problems. So far so good, our students are enjoying the hands on approach and collaborative learning as a class. We hope this will be able to give our students a broader concept of mathematics.
What a clinic this was! One of the best clinics we've ever had.
We had the privilege to have some of the Melbourne Vixens attend our school and run a clinic for our students. The players were so fantastic with our students, always communicating to them, participating in every activity and showing compassion and patience with them all. We couldn't thank Maddie (Netball Vic), her support staff and the players enough for coming to Beaufort. Our students had a ball!
