PBL for the Week - Caring for others!
SPARK Day– ART
On Thursday, Five students represent our school to join the first section of the SPARK day — Art. We went to Corpus
Christi School at St Ives. We have lessons on doing new skills and learn about the style of an artist. At the end of the day, we even present it to the parents. Our teacher for the day is the artist Carron. We did a self portrait in the Amedeo Modigliani style. The Modigliani has an elongated neck and an oval-shaped head. We used watercolour markers and paint to complete this artwork.
We also made a koi fish painting. For a water like effect we added salt to the water.
We used a technique called “double loading” where we dip our brush in one colour then another and made a thick texture. We learnt so much and had an amazing experience. We are so pleased we had this remarkable opportunity.
Due to rainy weather conditions, cross country will be postponed from Monday the 8th of April to Wednesday the 10th of April. Cross country will take place at Bannockburn Oval which is located in Pymble. The bus will leave by 8:30am at the latest, so please have your children at school as early as possible. All parent volunteers who have been registered, please drive to Bannockburn oval and be there by 8:30am. The children will take the bus back to school and will arrive in time for lunch. Parents are not allowed to pick up their children from the venue and will be needed to pick them up from school at the regular time. Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks.

Alecia Willet - Mackillop Sport Leader
What is the hardest thing you have ever done?
The hardest thing I have ever done is to gather all the people and calm them down. Because when everyone is cheering for their team and when I want to do something together it is hard to let them hear my voice.
If you could, which three people would you stay for a day?
If I can, I would stay with Taylor Swift, because she is such an inspiration and I always want to meet her. Mary Fowler, because I always want to be a famous soccer star. Tom Holland, because I always want to be an actor, and I want to jump across buildings and become adventurous.
If I give you a box, what would you hope that it would be in?
I would hope that there will be a duck, because I have a special toy that is a duck. It is from a family member that is overseas.
Riley Walter - Mackillop Sport Leader
Why are you passionate about being a sports Leader?
Mostly because I like sport and I like being a Leader, so being able to put the two together is great!
If you could, what would you change about history?
I would probably change war. As in get rid of all the wars, like World Wars, but especially World War ll, because that was terrible.
If you could, which celebrities would you spend the day with?
I would spend the day with my soccer idols, Messi and Belle, so I can get advice from them on how to be better at sports, but especially soccer!
