Black and Green Shield

It was most unfortunate that on such a special round of fixtures against Trinity Grammar School, there were many cancellations due to inclement weather over the weekend. Consequently, the decision was made not to present the Black and Green Shield last Saturday. However, efforts will be made to reschedule as many fixtures as possible during the Winter season, aiming to maximise teams across Rugby, Football and Tennis contributing towards this year's Shield winner.

However, we did take on Trinity in First XV and Second XV Rugby. Both our First and Second XV demonstrated many positives to be excited about throughout their matches. Overall, they were not strong enough to beat Trinity Grammar on the day but learnt a lot and will be stronger for the matches.

Swimming

Jack Taylor and Nicholas Macher of Year 11 are both competing this week at the 2024 Australian Age Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast. Both boys have extensive programs within their age groups with Jack competing in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, 4x50m NSW State Relay, 4x50m Freestyle Club Relay and the 4x50m Medley Club Relay. Nicholas contests the 400m Freestyle, the 800m Freestyle, the 1500m Freestyle and the 4x50m Club Relay.

It is a significant achievement to be competing at such a high level and is reflective of the hard work and dedication they have shown toward their training. On behalf of the St Patrick’s College Community, I would like to wish both students the very best of luck in all their swims.
