Staff vs Student European Handball

The students have taken a stranglehold of the Staff vs Student Cup with a dominant display in European Handball. The game was tight for the opening half, with scores locked at 5-all. Solid goalkeeping from Mr Lojanica, who made several key saves with lightning quick reactions, kept the students at bay for the first half. The student's endurance overwhelmed the tiring staff team as the match continued. Key players for the students included Alex Dimic, who moved well down the wings and set up many key attacking forays; Noah Bailey and Riley Noble earned plenty of the ball in the middle of the court, with Xavier Pravednikov excelling in goal. Best for staff included Mr. Lojanica, pre-service teacher Toby, Miss Neophytou, Mr. Nicholls, and Mr. Colquhoun-Matthews. The 15-9 victory gives the students a 4-0 lead in the Cup, a position the staff have not found themselves in for over a decade.

ABCN ‘s Women in Leadership Conference

On Monday, the students attended their final session of the ABCN Leadership conference at Minter Ellison (Law Firm) in the city. Thank you to Minter Ellison for allowing us to work with your staff. It was great to see one of our ex-students in 2016, Maria Rychkova, as one of our mentors. Maria left with an interest in pursuing Medicine and completed a Science Degree and then decided they wanted a change in direction and became a Lawyer.

The students completed an evaluation of the program and were awarded a certificate.

Senior Production

The Senior Drama Students are rehearsing for a play called ‘Desperate Housewives of Shakespeare’ by Jim and Jane Jeffries. The play is a whodunnit/comedy centered around Shakespeare’s most famous female characters. It is a modern take on classic tales and will be enjoyable.

We have been working hard in our rehearsals to make the script come to life, from painting sets to rehearsing lines. In the coming weeks, cast members will perfect their blocking, and the crew will refine the costumes, set props, and stage management plans.

Come along to witness the special cast members who will be revealed while supporting the Drama Department at McClelland.
