VET Music: Mojos
On Tuesday last week, the Year Twelve VET Music class travelled up to Perth to perform a variety of songs at Mojo’s Rock Bar in Fremantle. We departed Great Southern Grammar at 7.30am to arrive at our hotel on the Curtin Uni campus in Bentley in the early afternoon. Our class was buzzing with excitement as we readied ourselves in our best outfits for the performance that night. After taking the bus down to Fremantle, soundchecks, and a hearty dinner at Flipside Burgers, we opened the doors to a crowd of over 140 friends, family, and Grammar Alumni, quickly filling the small bar to the brim.
With the suave atmosphere of Mojos and a rocking combined setlist of our current Year Twelves and Alumni, the night was a truly incredible event. The crowd was enthralled with some fan-favourites from Radiohead, Peter Gabriel, and Stevie Wonder, as well as some rocking originals from the Alumni of Sophie, Lockie, Angus, Bella, Ivy, Sandro, Jake, and Ruby.
With the tireless work from all the performers, as well as Ms Luxton and Mr Fowler from behind the scenes, the night went off without a hitch (aside from a stray keyboard or two).

Art in the Porongurups
The Year Two class has been busy creating a sculpture for Art in the Porongurups which is open to the public over the first week of the school holidays. We began by discovering the 2018 sculpture by the sea art work by local artist Kevin Draper.
We then went on an adventure to the Wild Space to collect our own sticks. We chose to paint our sticks in warm colours and the sculpture became the ‘fire’. Please come along to this wonderful exhibition to view our work.
