Visiting Graphic novel author Shane McCarthy - Wednesday 17 April (Week One, Term Two)
It is with great excitement that we welcome graphic novel author Shane McCarthy to our school to work with the Year Seven students who are studying graphic novels in English. Shane will also be working with the Year Six students.
Shane is an author of graphic novels whose work has been internationally published by Marvel, DC Comics and more.
Over the years Shane has written well-known characters such as Batman, Deadpool and the X-men. During his run on the Transformers Comics he also created "Drift", the popular transformer that went on to be featured in two major motion pictures.
He will have a short information session about his career after school on Wednesday 17 April in the library for those students or teachers who would like to meet him. Preference will be given to those students who have not already seen him in the Year Six and Seven sessions.
Please come to the library and put your name down if you would like to attend this session. Numbers are limited. Students have been asked to come to the library to place their name on a list if they would like to attend the after-school session.
Book Club update
The second book club was placed over a week ago, but due to the flooding in other states I do not expect it to arrive this term. It should be here ready for students as the new term begins. A nice surprise to begin the term.
Students borrowing books for the Easter Holidays
There are two days left for students to borrow some fabulous reading material for the holidays. We have just added some great new books to our collections. The library is open at lunchtime for students to make selections.
Wishing you a wonderful, peaceful Easter break with family and friends.
Yours in reading
