From the Chaplain
In Christian Studies, the Year Five students had a competition to see who would make the best Easter picture out of their easter snacks. Six students read out what each snack meant and Samantha helped share out each snack. There were a couple of students who couldn’t resist eating their items as they were delivered and had none left to make a picture, which was quite funny.
In the end, we picked four pictures that were the best and they got the four leftover easter eggs as a prize. The winners were: Amour, Roxy, Kaiden and Elora.
Pretzel sticks – these represent the cross that Jesus died on.
Cranberries – these represent the blood that Jesus shed for us on the cross. Red also symbolises the sin that we all have.
White marshmallows – these represent our sins that have turned white and pure after Jesus died for them. ‘Your sins are red like deep red cloth. But they can be as white as snow.’ Isaiah 1:18
Rice cracker – This is the huge stone that was placed in front of the entrance of Jesus’ tomb.
The chocolate egg – this is the tomb in which Jesus was buried. The egg is hollow because Jesus is no longer in the tomb, he rose from the dead.
The jelly babies – These are all the people in the world. Jesus died for everyone who chooses to believe in him, not just a select few, but all people.
But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! Isaiah 53:5
I hope you all have a great Easter and remember what Jesus did for us all.
