During Writing sessions, we have been learning about fractured fairy tales. We have read and discussed about the different cultural variations of the story of Cinderella. We have learnt the original Cinderella, Cindy-Ella (Aussie Cindrella), Mufaro’s beautiful daughters (African Cinderella) and Yeh-Shen (Chinese Cinderella). We are currently publishing our own version of Cinderella.

In Numeracy, we have been learning about money. We have thought about and recorded various ways (using coins and notes) to make $1.65 and $10.

During Week 6, we had the bushranger’s incursion, at which we learnt about how to make fire and also learnt to make shelters using materials in nature (Zoe).

In Reading groups, we have been learning about homophones – when words sound the same but have different meanings.
