Book Week: Read, Grow, Inspire

Next week we are celebrating Book Week with varied classroom activities throughout the week. Teachers will engage students in learning experiences related to the short-listed picture story books.

Book Week is a great time of year. Not only does it award Australian writers and illustrators for their talents; it tells us a bit about what is on Australia's mind. This year’s shortlisted books encourage us to think about our own stories. Where we come from; our histories, the country that we live on and the tales that it tells us. They also talk about innovation, bravery and resilience – all great qualities that we have needed during the last few years.

As part of Book Week, we will have a dress up day on Friday 25th August. Students are invited to come to school dressed up as a favourite character, author or to fit the theme of 'Read, Grow, Inspire'. There will be a costume parade in the library at approximately 9:00am.

First Holy Communion

We continue to send our prayers of support to those children who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist on September 10th. We look forward to celebrating this important occasion as the children continue on their faith journey.

MACSSIS Survey

Each year, a random group of families are asked to compete an online survey referred to as MACSSIS.  The data collected from families, staff and students help paint a picture of the St Mary's School experience and assist in our continual mission to become the best we can be.  Next week, some families will be receiving an email access credentials.  We are asking these families to please complete the online survey, which will run from late August through to September 16th. Please keep an eye out for your invitation to contribute as your input is greatly valued and appreciated!

Art Room Progress

We are getting closer and closer to having our new art space complete.

The progress of the building has flown since the arrival of the windows. Have a look at how much it has changed.

Can't wait to get in there!!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week for our book week celebrations.
