Environmental Education News

All students have been learning about ecosystems this term and have produced some amazing results from what they have developed in their understanding of the topic.

Foundation and Year 1/2 students have explored the many different ecosystems found around the world and even adventured into our very own school forest and wetland to look for living and non living things.

Year 3/4 students learnt about many different ecosystems and have chosen their favourite ecosystem and then created a 3D model of what they believe it would look like. I think the paper mâché’ lesson for building their models was a favourite among many students. Messy but fun!

Year 5/6 students researched a particular ecosystem of their choosing to discover what living an non living things are found there but more so what issues humans have created in this ecosystem and what we can do to try and fix them.

Year 5/6s are now currently rejuvenating the school wetlands by removed all the weeds, trimming back the grasses and adding a new layer of woodchip mulch. It looks amazing!
