Arludo Game Design Challenge
Last week, the Year 5/6 students entered a game design competition through Arludo - an Australian company creating videogames to engage and inspire students to help them understand and use science in their lives.
The competition was open to students all over Australia. We are very lucky to have TWO groups shortlisted! Voting is now open to determine the top 10 national finalists.
The finalists will be invited to participate in Arludo's inaugural Awards at UNSW Sydney on Tuesday 10 October. At the Awards, there will be in person workshops with Arludo's team of scientists and educators, followed by the awards ceremony in the evening where top 3 teams will be presented with $250 gift cards. The winning team will work closely with Arludo’s team of scientists and game developers to build their game by the end of the year!
Let’s get voting!!
Voting closes on Tuesday 19th September at 5pm.
The two teams shortlisted are:
Neutron Light by Jordan T, Steven H and Ryan T
Neutron Light is a puzzle game with a bright difference! You must find your way through a
series of mazes using a beam of light! Can you reflect and refract the light around corners and through water to unlock the safe to release the key to escape the deep, dark pyramid before it is too late?

Planatia by Trisha, Kevin N, Laura S, Amaan and Celina
In Planatia, students will find a planet that desperately needs saving. They start helping their planet by stealing things from other planets to help its own. Slowly, more disasters start happening and they need to help their planet survive. When their atmosphere gets stronger, less disasters will affect their planet.
