Dear Parents/Carers

As a parish we celebrated Fr John's 40th anniversary of ordination last Sunday at 11am mass and then hospitality in the hall after mass. It was a lovely celebration of John's anniversary and service to his community. Please join us in congratulating John when you see him.

Thank you to the parents that helped throughout this week with the swimming lessons. These lessons help develop important skills that enable our children to actively participate and stay safe in many of our summer activities. Swimming is also a great form of regular exercise.

Book Week

We celebrate Book Week next week due to our swimming program this week. On Monday the children are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. Then during the week the children will explore the different books that were both shortlisted and those that won awards throughout their Literacy and Library sessions.

Reminders:

Child Safety and Working With Children Check 

It is a legal requirement for any helper either in the classroom or for excursions to have a Working With Children Check (WWCC). We must have a copy of this in our office. If you have not submitted a copy of your WWCC or have recently received a new one please bring it to the office for us to photocopy and file. This must be the approved WWCC not just the initial receipt of application. Thank you.

Art Show

The children and staff are busily preparing for the Art Show on the 7th September. Each child is preparing pieces both in their Art Lessons and within their class inquiry into creativity. This should be a wonderful showcase of the children's learning this term. Please keep the date free and perhaps some grandparents may wish to visit as well.

Premier's Reading Challenge - Wild About Reading

A reminder that the children that enrolled in the Premier's Reading Challenge have until 8th September to read the required number of books.
