Principal's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families

Maramba Commitment to Child Safety

Maramba Primary School is committed to safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making. Maramba Primary School has zero tolerance for child abuse.

Maramba Primary School is committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as the safety of children with a disability.

Every person involved at Maramba Primary School has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

BOOK WEEK!

Each year across Australia, the CBCA brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children's literature.

As part of this, our Book Week dress-up day at Maramba is one of the highlights of the year filled with laughter, colour and fun. It is a special day where the joy that comes from reading is celebrated by our students and staff by coming to school dressed as their favourite book character!

Thursday was amazing! There were so many great costumes that really reflected this year's theme of READ, GROW, INSPIRE. It was pleasing to see that our children’s enthusiasm and love of books is so strong!

As always, the staff were spectacular in immersing themselves in the spirit of the day and showing their enjoyment of books by coming dressed as their favourite books characters too. It was also great to see so many parents at our assembly to be a part of the fun and help celebrate Book Week.

Congratulations to our amazing Book Week Winners! Such an incredible effort bring to life so many wonderful characters.

Thank you to the 20% of the 81 families who have completed the Parent Opinion Survey so far. With the closing date of 8th September, we would really appreciate it if our families could find 20 minutes to complete the confidential survey. Your time, thoughts and feedback are valuable about our school’s operations.

NOTE: Only one parent or carer per family can complete the survey.

For any of our families who require information in their home language, the survey is available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Thank you for supporting our amazing school community!

Take care and stay safe!
