Our Year 1 Science - Making Ice Cream!
We are disappointed we felt the need to postpone today's Walkathon but we are sure you would agree it was the right thing to do. So much planning has gone into this event and there was a lot of excitement, but now we look forward to it on the first Friday of next term.
We hope the Spring weather (maybe?) will encourage you to join us for our Working Bee this Sunday. Your participation always makes such a difference to the school and is highly appreciated. Morning tea provided too! A massive skip has arrived as we wish to continue the project of clearing our storage and learning spaces. Go to the following link for more information and a look at the type of work needed to present our school at it's best.
During last Friday's Curriculum Day we reflected on our Annual Implementation Plan progress to ensure we were embedding improvement initiatives and support staff learning. From a well-being perspective we are introducing Zones of Regulation to develop student skills in emotional intelligence. The program will be implemented in 2022 and we will be providing opportunities for parents to understand the program and the language behind it.
Our Literacy Leaders presented their experience of the course they are currently participating in and how this will strengthen our approach to literacy at Beaumaris Primary moving forward. Time was spent on planning with the emphasis on embedding our work on Learner Agency and differentiation. We looked at an Action Plan to address our challenges with student attendance and also looked at the concept of "relation trust" to enhance our already healthy culture of collegiality.
Congratulations to Archer who recently represented TeamVic and Beaumaris Primary at the School Sport Australia Diving Championships. Archer won a silver medal in the 11 boys knockout and came 4th in the 11 boys springboard event. We are very proud of your success, Archer, especially as you started diving just this year!
Enjoy you weekend as we wait for the sun to return.
