School Concert: Costumes

The OHR School Concert, scheduled for the evening of Thursday 14 September, is exactly four weeks away.  In preparation for this event, the students have been rehearsing enthusiastically with Mr Bode and their classroom teachers.

The aim is to keep costuming requirements very simple.  In Mr Bode's words, "Our priority is to make the show about the kids, not the crafting of elaborate costume masterpieces. Since some of the changes will be quick, we've chosen black as a foundational colour for simplicity and flexibility. The following costume suggestions (in the attachment) are just ideas for accessorising, and we invite you to add one or two small touches to make the outfit your own. All students are asked to wear black: long black tracksuit pants or leggings, a black t-shirt without logos*, and sneakers. This approach keeps the focus on the children's performance while allowing for individual expression."

* If a black t-shirt has a logo, it can simply be worn inside out.

By selecting the button, below, you will find the order of the songs and suggestions for costume accessories.  Please scroll through the entire list to see what your child is required to bring to school.  We ask that the black costume is kept at home until close to concert time.  However, we ask that you begin labelling accessory costume items for your child, with their name, and send these along to their class teacher who will store them safely at school.  If you have any items that may benefit students in other year levels, by all means, send those along.
