Principal's Message

What a term it has been! So many enjoyable whole school events and so much achieved with teaching, learning and wellbeing over the 10 weeks. We look forward to a big 11 and a half week term to finish the year!

Thank you to all families for your completion of the survey. 43% of our community responded, enabling robust discussion and reflection for improvement moving into 2024.

NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL POSITION

I am excited to announce that Mark Cooper has been successfully appointed to the substantive position of Assistant Principal, officially commencing in Term 4. We thank Mark for the work he completed in his acting role this year and look forward to officially welcoming him to the principal team next term.

COLOUR EXPLOSION RUN

Wowsers!!! What a most fantastic day for this event! The sun was shining, the vibe was incredibly positive and we all had SO MUCH FUN! Thank you so much to all members of the HPS community for your fundraising efforts this term. We raised over $20,000 for the school ensuring that the SRC's request for a GAGA PIT has been approved! We will work on this during Term 4 and hope to have the pit up and running ASAP.

SAVE THE DATE - TERM 4 EVENTS

• Monday 6th November - altered arrangements for students, classes will not be running - more details to come
• Tuesday 7th November - Melbourne Cup Day public holiday
• Monday 27th November - Curriculum Day
• Monday 11th December - End of Year Extravaganza, times to be determined (likely 3.30/4pm - 5.45pm - to be confirmed)
• Tuesday 12th December - Statewide Orientation Day
• Monday 18th December - Year 6 Graduation 5pm - 8pm
• Tuesday 19th December - last day Term 4 2.30pm dismissal for students, last day for OSHC 2023

CLASS PLACEMENT REQUESTS FOR 2024

As per previous years, families have the opportunity to place a request for their child's class placement in 2024. All requests must be in writing via email to hillsmeade.ps@education.vic.gov.au and addressed to Linda Buckeridge by 6th October 2023. Requests are to be based on student learning needs. Please be assured that all requests will be considered however, they are not guaranteed.
