The Foundations to Year 4 have also been enjoying AUSLAN lessons. This term we have been very busy learning how to sign our favourite sports in the Olympics. We are also learning about animals, foods and families. Students enjoy singing and signing songs and playing games to learn AUSLAN. If you want to know how to sign your name, just ask your child to teach you! They love practicing.
It is wonderful to see AUSLAN being used in our everyday school life!
The 5/6s have continued learning Auslan (Australian Sign Language) this Semester. We have continued to practise our finger spelling, signing the letters of the alphabet and we have also learnt the signs for Colours, Sports, and School. We can sign many items used at school as well as the names of the different subjects. In addition to this, we are learning to sign the Australian anthem. It has been great to see the students embrace Auslan and we look forward to seeing their skills develop as they continue their practice.
