Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

Science Week and Book Week have been fun over the last fortnight. We have had duck and frog hunt every lunch and recess and all the students have been very keen to be the daily winners and hopefully the overall winners which will be announced this week.  Mrs Healy also organised a picture story book hunt throughout the school. Many classes have tiptoed through the leadership area looking for the clues. Thank you to Mrs Stefanec and Mrs Healy for organising these activities.

AFL State Final

Congratulations to out Year 6 AFL team who competed in the state finals on Wednesday. The boys won their first 2 games and lost the 3rd game by a nail biting 1 point. This loss took them out of playing in the Grand final.  Thank you to Mr Andrew for being our a super coach, Ryan for being a wonderful assistant coach and Bennett for being the runner for the day. It was fabulous to have so many parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles supporting our team. The boys showed great team spirit and plenty of grunt. Well done everyone.

St Louis Podcast

Our Year 6 Communication Team have been working hard to start a new school podcast. The current working title is 'Tell Him He's Dreaming' and the show will include anything from reports of important school events and school news, as well as interviews with people from our community.

Episode one is live and can be accessed by clicking the link below. It's an interview 3 of our team did with an actual former Olympian, Bethany Walsh! Thanks to Beth for taking time out of her day to talk with our students. Look out for more episodes in the future.

PFA meeting

The PFA has organised a movie night for the whole school on Friday 13 September. A Try booking link was sent out yesterday by the office and I encourage everyone to show their  support to the PFA and book your family into this movie night. It will be held on the school’s oval if the weather is favourable otherwise we will move it into the hall.

At the meeting The State School Saving Bonus was mentioned. When the State Government announced this bonus earlier this year I sent an email to our State member Mr Tim Richardson. I asked Tim to represent the Catholic families in his electorate and fight for equality. He responded to my email and said he did not agree with the decision and would talk to the Education Minister. I have had no further response from Tim.
