Grade 6 Students Hit the Slopes!

Grade 6 students spent 3 days last week on the slopes of Mt Buller.  Blessed with amazing weather and magnificent snow, the students embraced the opportunity to learn and refine their skiing skills. Many proudly advanced from the magic carpet to the ski slopes, thanks to the ski lessons provided. At night a variety of delicious meals were served and students prepared and performed in their own talent show. The skiers returned weary and happy, with many having mastered the art of skiing!

TPS Shines at Victorian Interschools Snowsports Competition

Toorak Primary School (TPS) made a strong showing at the 2024 Victorian INTERSCHOOLS Snowsports Competition, held at Mt Buller. This year, the event saw 220 schools and over 7,000 participants from across the state compete in a range of thrilling events.

TPS was represented by eight enthusiastic competitors who proudly marched in the opening ceremony and enjoyed the spectacular fireworks display, and our own David Clark doing a magnificent job at MC for the night. The students participated in Giant Slalom, Ski Cross, and Moguls, showing great skill and determination in each event.

Among the TPS competitors, Missy excelled in all three disciplines—Giant Slalom, Moguls, and Ski Cross—while Kit McIntosh demonstrated impressive talent in Ski Cross. Both Missy and Kit have successfully qualified for the national competition, which will take place from September 3rd to 6th at Perisher.

The experience was not just about competition but also about fun and camaraderie, and the TPS team returned with unforgettable memories and a strong sense of achievement.

Grade 6 Monopoly Excursion

A selected group of Grade 6 students recently embarked on an exciting excursion to Monopoly Dreams in Melbourne, where they experienced a multi-sensory adventure featuring interactive exhibits, 4D technology, and group tasks. As they toured Monopoly city, students completed various challenges, played immersive games, and enjoyed the captivating blend of technology, learning and play. Along the way, they also gained insights into Melbourne's rich heritage and geography, making the excursion both educational and unforgettable. Students were also apart of activities researching famous Melbourne events and geography in pre and post excursion lessons. The day was filled with fun, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition as they navigated the life-sized Monopoly spaces, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
