What an amazing day we had during the Bunnings incursion on 22nd August 2024! đ±
First, we got our hands dirty planting potatoes, lettuce, and peas in our garden. We also learnt that our potatoes will be ready by October. We even got to choose where we wanted to plant them and dig the holes.
Â
After that, we learned how to label different parts of a plant and a tree. We found it interesting to learn about the roots, stems, leaves, and flowers. It made me realise how important each part is for the plant to grow.
Â
One of the most exciting things was learning about photosynthesis. We learnt that plants use sunlight to make their food! Itâs like they have a superpower. We talked about how plants need sunlight, water, and air to grow big and strong.
Â
We also had a blast cleaning up the garden. It felt good to see our garden looking neat and ready for our plants to grow. Plus, working together made it even more fun.
Â
Overall, the incursion was a fantastic experience. We learned a lot about plants, got to plant some myself, and had a great time with my classmates. We canât wait to see how our garden grows! đżđ
Our hot chocolate fundraiser was such a blast! ââš
We started by making delicious hot chocolate to sell for our Camp next year and State School Spectacular. It was so much fun stirring up the cocoa and watching everyone enjoy their drinks!
Â
But it wasnât just about the hot chocolate. We learned a lot about capacity and measurements. We had to measure out the right amount of milk and cocoa powder for each batch, and we used different measuring tools to make sure everything was perfect. It was like being a scientist in the kitchen!
Â
We also used this fundraiser to practice handling money. We counted how much money we made and figured out how to give the right change. It was a great way to see how important it is to be careful with numbers and money.
Â
The best part was seeing everyoneâs happy faces as they enjoyed their hot chocolate. Plus, it felt great to know that we were raising money for something exciting like our camp for next year and the State School Spectacular.Â
Â
Overall, it was a fun and learning-packed day. We got to enjoy some yummy hot chocolate, learn new skills and help with our schoolâs big events. Canât wait for the next one! đ«đ°đ

Going to see "Newsies" at South Oakleigh Secondary College on 14th August was awesome! đđ
The bus ride was organized by SOSC, and it was exciting for us to travel there together. When we arrived, we could already feel the buzz of excitement in the air. The musical performance was fantastic! The students at South Oakleigh did an amazing job with their singing, dancing, and acting. It was so inspiring to see their hard work and talent come to life on stage.
Â
Watching "Newsies" made us think a lot about our school assemblies. The way the performers worked together and put on such a professional show made us realise how important it is to be well-prepared and confident when weâre up in front of everyone. We even talked about how we could use what we learned to improve our assembly organisation and speaking skills. Â It was a great experience that showed us the value of teamwork and practice. Plus, it was a lot of fun to see a real musical performance and cheer for the performers.
Â
Overall, the trip was not only entertaining but also gave us a lot to think about for our projects and presentations. We canât wait to use what we learned in our next assembly! đ€đïžđ
