Celebrating Learning

The gypsy rover came over the hill

Down through the valley so shady

He whistled, and he sang 'til the greenwoods rang

And he won the heart of a lady

Ah-dee-doo-ah-dee-doo-dah-day

Ah-dee-doo-ah-dee-day-dee

He whistled, and he sang 'till the greenwoods rang

And he won the heart of a lady

She left behind her silken gown

And shoes of Spanish leather

They whistled, and they sang with the winds all around

As they rode off together

Ah-dee-doo-ah-dee-doo-dah-day

Ah-dee-doo-ah-dee-day-dee

They whistled, and they sang with the winds all around

As they rode off together

We have been circle-dancing and singing, looking forward to our grade one musicians playing this for us on recorder later in the year. We have been enacting sound stories and drawing letters from the shapes of them in the sand, on each other’s backs, in the air with our eyes closed as well as on our chalkboards and books.

We have been counting through running and rhythm. We have been making clay potion bowls to add and count magic ingredients to, and preparing birthday picnics for our toys, sharing out cakes and treats for their guests. With the sun in the garden we have been preparing our morning fruit, enjoying our lessons and playing outside more and more.
