Introducing Our Teaching and Learning Team

At Wimba Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every student thrives across the Victorian Curriculum, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and evidence-based teaching practices. Our Teaching and Learning Team plays a key role in supporting high-quality instruction and improving student outcomes. Leading this work is Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, Belinda Williams, who oversees curriculum development, instructional coaching, assessment and reporting to drive student success.

Additionally, our Learning Specialists provide targeted support for teachers and students across the school: Marnie McColl (Foundation & Year 1) specialising in early years literacy and numeracy learning and Sarah Lochhead (Years 2-6) supporting best-practice teaching strategies and curriculum development for early and middle year levels. You may see them teaching in their own classrooms, working alongside teachers in their classrooms, or supervising children in the school grounds. Feel free to say hello when you see us!

Together, our team is dedicated to fostering engaging, high-impact teaching and learning experiences that support every student to achieve their best. We look forward to working with families throughout the year to celebrate student growth and success!

Congratulations to Year 3 and Year 5 Students!

A huge congratulations to all our Year 3 and Year 5 students who recently completed the 2025 NAPLAN assessments! We are incredibly proud of the effort, resilience, and positive attitude they demonstrated throughout the testing process.

NAPLAN is just one measure of student progress, providing valuable insights into literacy and numeracy development. No matter the results, we celebrate each student's growth, perseverance, and commitment to learning.

Thank you to our teachers and families for your ongoing support in preparing and encouraging our students. We look forward to using the insights from NAPLAN to continue strengthening learning experiences across the school.
