Harmony Day

Harmony Day - A Celebration of Unity

Last week, our school community came together with Ellenbrook Primary School to celebrate Harmony Day in a vibrant and meaningful way. It was an incredible opportunity for students to showcase their cultures and appreciate the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our world.

Students were dressed in cultural dress, or orange to mark the diversity that makes up Australian culture. Both schools then gathered together to watch an assortment of dances, songs, poems and stories from different countries.

Our very own St Helena's students Baban, Arnav and Liam performed. Baban and Arnav danced a Punjabi dance and Liam showed of his stock whip cracking skills.

Each buddy class was assigned a unique country to explore, and the collaboration was inspiring. Together, students engaged in a variety of activities that showcased the traditions, customs, and creativity of their chosen cultures. From crafting beautiful artwork to trying out traditional games and even tasting new foods, the excitement and enthusiasm were palpable.

Watching the students work together, share their insights, and embrace diversity was truly heartwarming. The pride and joy on their faces as they shared their work was a powerful reminder of the importance of unity and inclusivity in our school community.

Thank you to all the teachers, students, and families who contributed to making Harmony Day such a memorable event. Your efforts helped reinforce the values of respect, belonging, and connection that we hold dear.
