Dear Parents and Caregivers
Kindergarten 2026
A reminder to our current families, Kindergarten 2026 interviews are well underway with very positive numbers enrolled. If you are yet to submit your application, we encourage you to do so by the end of next week. We had a great turn out for our School Tours yesterday at 9:00am and 4:00pm and many of the families that were in attendance have heard great things about St Helena's Catholic Primary School. Thank you to all our families that positively advertise all that we do at St Helena's to the wider community.
Pre-Kindergarten - Little Adventurers 2025
We are pleased to announce that we will be having Little Adventurers on a Tuesday and Wednesday as of the start of Term 2. Our Wednesday class is now full, however, we have a few spots left in the Tuesday class if any of our families are interested.
Harmony Day
As part of Harmony Week we came together last Friday to celebrate the many cultures that make up St Helena's Catholic Primary School. We are blessed to have such a multicultural school. Thank you to Miss Bederson for organising the Harmony Week display and sharing of ideas. Thank you to all our teachers for planning Buddy activities. We love our Harmony Day Tree in the Art/Science Room too! Thanks Mrs Norman and Mrs Ireri for letting it grow with all our students. It was also great to come together with Ellenbrook Primary School to participate in some Harmony Day performances on Friday morning.
Project Compassion
Thank you for everyone's continued efforts in raising funds for Caritas - Project Compassion over this season of Lent. There have been some great stalls and activities during recess and lunch organised by the teachers and students. Thank you to our staff and students for organising and supporting the activities and donating towards Project Compassion. Thank you to the parents/caregivers for your donation and support too!
Attendance
A reminder that a clear pre-requisite for school success is student attendance. It is important for students to be in attendance at school each day, making the most of their opportunities. There is a very strong correlation between school attendance and improved student outcomes. Thank you for your assistance in ensuring your child/ren are in regular attendance and punctual to school, supporting their learning journey. If you are requiring assistance with school attendance for your child/ren, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child/ren's classroom teacher. From time to time, we too may reach out if we see attendance rates are low for individual students. We encourage parents/caregivers to make appointments outside of school hours where practical. It is also important that if students are unwell, that they stay home and recover. Thanks for your cooperation and support.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
I hope all parents/caregivers have now either had, or organised a Teacher/Parent Interview with your child's teacher. These interviews are really important and give teachers the opportunity to let you know how your child/ren are going, as well as giving you the opportunity to share your observations that you have made in your child/ren's learning. Thank you to our amazing teachers for all that you do in preparing for these interviews and your time in meeting with our parents/caregivers. I know they are very appreciative of your efforts!
Staff Right to Disconnect
A reminder to parents and caregivers that to assist us in enabling our teachers to disconnect from work and technology at the end of their working hours, there is no expectation that they will respond to calls, emails, texts or other communications outside of school hours. Please also refer to our Communication Guidelines that we have shared previously and can be located in the documents section on SEQTA.
