Kindergarten Bilbies and Rosellas

Our Kindy students have made a wonderful start to their learning journey. The days have been filled with settling into new routines, making new friends and sharing in their learning.

From stories to hands on activities each day has brought new opportunities for discovery and learning.

It is going to be an exciting year as they build confidence, curiosity and a love for learning.

Year 5 Bandicoots and Dingoes

In Year Five, we have enjoyed getting to know our new class members and teachers.

As Year Fives, we call ourselves 'Leaders in Training.' We have started our leadership course where we learn a new skill each week. Last week, we looked at the importance of setting goals. We created our own academic and wellbeing 'SMART' goal, with the intention of working towards these until the end of Term One. We have also learnt about the skill of 'using positive thinking' and the power of using a growth mindset when we feel challenged.

We have been busy practising our sentence level writing during our Literacy block. We know how to determine if a clause is dependent or independent, and use clauses together to form more descriptive sentences.

On Harmony Day, we were delighted to meet our new Kindy Buddies. What a great way to put our new 'Leaders in Training' skills into action! Our teachers were blown away by our patience and engagement with our new friends.

Finally, we are very excited to watch our 3D printing in action towards the end of term! As part of our Technology unit, we have digitally designed a themed cookie cutter. We look forward to watching these form right before our eyes.
