My Career Insights is a program for all Year 9 students in government secondary schools.
My Career Insights will help your child:
• Learn about what skills and abilities they could bring to a career.
• Find out about what jobs match their abilities, interests and personality, and the subjects they need for those jobs
As part of the My Career Insights program, your child will have free access to:
• Complete a series of online questions and quizzes on the Morrisby website at school (or at home if it cannot be completed at school).
• Receive a Morrisby Profile Report showing the results from the questions and quizzes, which summarises their individual strengths and interests and suggests related career paths and study options.
• Have a 30-minute meeting with a Morrisby-trained professional Career Practitioner, who will explain the report to your child. Parents/carers are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Please tell the school if you need a telephone interpreting service.
Extra information about the program can be found on the ACCE website:

In Wide World of Food, the students made basic macaroni and cheese. The students learned how to make a white sauce through the process of gelatinisation. The students added grated vegetables in and included this in the recipe to tie it into the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating. The students made individual serves in small baking dishes and enjoyed eating it.
The students made farfalle pasta from scratch using a pasta machine. The students also learned how to make their own pasta sauce.
Year 9 Science classes have been learning about forensics. We have extracted DNA from strawberries, tested blood splatter patterns and investigated blood typing.
In Science we have also been looking at chemical reactions.
Six of our Year 9 future leaders have spent Term 1 at the Snowy River School for Leadership, where they have embraced the challenge of developing strong leadership skills, building confidence and strengthening their self-belief. Through adventurous experiences like surfing, hiking, expeditions and mountain biking, they have pushed their limits, grown as individuals and are now equipped with the resilience and determination to take on future challenges.
Our Year 9 students have been lucky enough to take part in an exciting program called Job Jump. Employers from all over have been kind enough to visit the school and set up stalls to showcase potential careers. The students had a great time learning about new career opportunities while trying out fun activities.
As we celebrate this joyful season, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for the continued support from all our lovely families. The Year 9 Hub wishes you all a happy and safe Easter holidays. We can't wait to see what Term 2 has planned for us all. ~ Belinda, Erin, Megan, Jemma and Bec
