Catholic Primary Schools Swimming Carnival
Well done to Loreto’s swimming team who came in 3rd place at the recent Catholic Primary Schools event.
Loreto is placed in Section 1 for this swimming event, so it is a very high standard of competition. We were blessed with a perfect day at Burnside Pool and put in strong performances across all strokes and in all age groups.
Some highlights included our 4 x 50m Medley relay team who were in 5th position at the final turn before “Colette the Jet” powered home in the freestyle leg to propel us to 3rd. We performed particularly strongly in the breaststroke events, gaining ribbons in all Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 races. Our freestyle relay teams finished off the event in style with their Loreto teammates urging them home loudly from the side of the pool.
The girls should be pleased with their efforts on what was a really fun day. They performed strongly, supported their teammates throughout, celebrated each other’s successes and represented the school with pride.
Many thanks to Ms Edwards for helping organise the swimmers and to all the parents for their support during the day.

Summer Netball Finals
Our Loreto Gold and Loreto White Year 6 teams took to the court last Friday in preliminary finals. The Gold team went down after a titanic struggle against Burnside. Well done to coach Chetine and the players on a brilliant season!
On a neighbouring court, the White team faced St Joseph’s Hectorville. We found ourselves down 1-3 early before steadying in the 2nd quarter. Defenders Hattie, Penny, and Maria proved impassable as the game wore on. Midcourters Eva, Isabelle, and Esther started finding space. Audrey picked up a number of intercepts. Shooters Lily, Jamie, and Valentina found their range. We pulled ahead during the 3rd quarter and held on for an 11-7 victory.
The grand final is this Friday, April 4th, against East Para at 7:00 pm. The venue is Emery Road, Campbelltown. Good luck!
Basketball
Well done to our Year 3/4 basketball team who made a successful entry to the sport in the Wednesday afternoon competition at Wayville this term. The girls finished off with a 14-2 win over St Aloysius and ended up with 4 wins from our 5 matches.
We were particularly tenacious on defense which led to a number of steals, turnovers, and interceptions.
We look forward to the winter competition!
Tennis
Well done to our two Loreto tennis teams who have had a fantastic Term 1, winning a number of matches in the IGSSA Friday afternoon competition. Bella, Charlotte, Millie, Winnie, Alexis, Eliza, Elise, Eleanor, and Riaana have all improved their serving and groundstrokes through the term.
Volleyball
Good luck to our Loreto team who have their final match for the term this afternoon against Highgate. We have had a strong summer and are in the playoff for 5th position.
