The Year 5 students had a wonderful time this week at Roonka, a beautiful campsite near Blanchetown along the Murray River. This experience allowed the girls to extend their learning beyond the classroom through activities such as raft building, canoeing, zooming across a lagoon on a flying fox and camping. These are valuable skills that contribute to their holistic development.
Throughout the camp, we saw tremendous growth in the students’ self-confidence, independence, resilience, and social awareness as they embraced new challenges, developed skills, and strengthened friendships. A big thank you must go to all the teachers who made this camp experience so enjoyable for the girls!
On Friday April 11, the Year 5 students will run their annual Purple Day fundraiser in support of Project Compassion. All students across the Junior School are invited to wear purple casual clothes and bring a gold coin donation. The Year 5 students have organised their own stalls, which will be open during recess and lunchtime in the quadrangle. A wide variety of treats and activities will be available, including cakes, ice creams, raffles, and more, with prices ranging from $1 to $5. Students are encouraged to bring along some coins if they wish to make purchases and support this wonderful cause.
A friendly reminder to register your daughter for the Term 2 co-curricular activities through the Ed smart notification. We have introduced a few new options, so please review the timetable carefully.
Good luck to our Year 6 White Netball team as they compete in their Summer Grand Final at Emery Rd at 7pm!
As we approach Holy Week, this is a meaningful time to reflect on the loving and generous community we have at Loreto College, Marryatville. This term has given us much to celebrate, from our 120-year Mass to the many beautiful, student-led Liturgies, Masses and Assemblies. I wish everyone a joyful Easter and a restful Term 1 break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in Term 2, refreshed and ready for the new term ahead.

In Year 1, we have been busy building our number skills as we explore addition and subtraction up to 20! Through hands-on activities, number stories, and fun challenges, students have been developing strategies to solve problems with confidence. We have been using number lines, counting on and back, and exploring how addition and subtraction are connected. It’s wonderful to see students growing in their understanding and enjoying the journey of learning maths!

Our talented Year 3–6 students have been enjoying Arts Club this term, exploring their creativity through a range of projects. In the photos above, they proudly showcase their vibrant Year of the Snake collages, alongside some beautiful wool art pieces inspired by Galentine’s Day.
