Expressions of Interest

Expressions of interest for Preschool 2026 are available from Wednesday, 30th April, 2025 by contacting the School Office on 96101311 or via email at:

stjohnspk-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au  

A link will then be forwarded to access the online expression of interest.

NSW Department of Education preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school. Children can be enrolled from the beginning of the school year if they turn four years of age before 31 July that year. Attendance is 5 days per fortnight.

A committee will review all applications, in line with the NSW Department of Education preschool selection criteria, before offering the 40 places. 

Priority is given to:

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander children

• children living in low socio-economic circumstances

• children who are unable to access other early childhood settings due to financial hardship.

The committee will then offer enrolment in the following order:

• children living within the school's catchment area

• children living outside the catchment area but have siblings at the school

• other applicants.

If offered a place, families must provide documentation about their child’s immunisation status. Enrolment cannot proceed without this information.

The closing date for completed expressions of interest with necessary documents attached is 3.00pm on Friday, 25th July, 2025.

Families are reminded that the expression of interest is not a confirmed enrolment for preschool 2026.
