During the past 2 weeks in inquiry, we have been learning about ourselves. One of the things the students have done, was make mind maps about their hobbies, future and what we want to do, family, influences, mood boosters, character traits and friends. From these mindmaps (pictured below), students have started to make self-portraits that capture their identity as a person. They are looking amazing and I can't wait to share them with you all on SeeSaw!
During reading and writing this past fortnight we have published biographies, completed a big write and a cold write, and started to have a go at marking work. We have found that students in our class are very harsh markers, but have found it incredibly interesting to see how to mark there own and others writing.
As we come to the end of the term, students have started to recognise where in their writing they need punctuation and can make edits to up-level their work. In reading, we have started to work on how to summarise what we have just read.
Body BRIGHT is where our social and emotional learning (SEL), where we learn about our bodies and how we can be Brave, Resilient, Inclusive, Grateful, Happy, and Thought-full. This week we focused on being inclusive, as such, students had to go around the classroom and ask 5 students who they do not know very well, 5 different questions. Our SEL lessons are always a great way to start our Monday mornings.
On Tuesday the 1st of April, a number of our students will be participating in the Bayside District Track Athletics. Parents are welcome to come along and cheer on our fantastic competitors. This is an event for selected students, and students who wanted to attend. Thank you to the parents that have already filled out the Operoo notice giving permission for their child to attend. Please re-check Operoo for all of the details and pray for lovely weather!
