French

- Madame Emily, French Teacher

In anticipation of the Easter holidays, we have more recently been learning about how Easter is celebrated in France. On 1st April, children tried to stick ‘Poisson d’Avril’ (April Fish) on the back of their parents without them noticing as an April fool! This year, 1st April coincided with our Year 1 French classes. I wonder how many of our students managed to prank their grown ups with their Poissons d’Avril?!

Bastille Day – coming soon!

We are excited to announce that PMPS will be celebrating Bastille Day on Wednesday 2nd July (Week 11 of Term 2).

The day will be filled with French food, crafts, sports and film activities. Everyone is invited to dress up in French-inspired costumes which can be as simple as wearing bleu, blanc or rouge (blue, white or red).

Students are encouraged to bring a gold coin donation to support the valuable work of Médécins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF translates to Doctors without Borders, which provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
