Da Vinci Decathlon Training
Twenty Year 5 and 6 students recently gathered for a fast-paced training session in preparation for the da Vinci Decathlon - an academic competition inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s genius, spanning Math, English, Science, and more. To be successful on the day, students need teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and strong literacy. We can only bring eight students for the team (!) so the day was as much selection as it was training.
From logic puzzles and speed-geography-quizzes to interior design and short skits, students rotated through challenges that tested their collaboration. Each activity encouraged them to step into their areas of expertise: some took on leadership while others excelled at practical or creative tasks.
Lots of smiles, laughs and clever ideas. The team of eight will be selected shortly—stay tuned for how this team performs at the competition on 20 May (along with our Year 7 team and Year 9 team).
