Learning in M24

Recounts

Over the last couple of weeks, M24 has been focusing on writing Recounts.  They’ve done a great job identifying the structure of a recount, with a focus on using transitioning words when sequencing events. 

One of the recounts they created was about their Recount Experience Day in which they tried out various experiences.  They particularly enjoyed the Crime Scene in M21.  They identified the culprit by finding clues and using evidence around them. 

M24 also wrote a fictional recount in which they tried out topics such as the first time they met a unicorn or the first time they hatched a dragon egg.  The children produced imaginative and interesting writing and enjoyed sharing their recounts with the class.
