Level 2 Sleepover

How do you convert classrooms and libraries into bedrooms? ........ Have a Level 2 Sleepover!

The Level 2 Sleepover took place on Friday 3rd November. From sleeping bags, to pizza to PJs.....How cosy did our school look!

Semester 2 Assessment

Teachers assess student achievement in a variety of ways and this is an ongoing process throughout the school year. Essential Assessment is an online assessment that students complete in both Mathematics and Reading. This testing can be also completed in paper format. The assessment is aligned to the Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards and is utilised as both a formative and summative assessment tool. At Rangeview, Foundation utilises Essential Assessment in Term 2 and 4. In Levels 1-6, students take part in Essential Assessment in Term 1 as a pre test and diagnostic tool, Term 2 to monitor progress and determine individual student learning needs and Term 4 to determine learning growth.

Essential Assessment is just one of many forms of assessment our teachers use to determine student learning and growth that will be shown in the upcoming student reports.

Student Reports Semester 2

Our teachers are currently hard at work writing Semester 2 reports and supporting students with assessment tasks. Student reports are written twice yearly, at the end of Semester 1 and at the end of Semester 2. Student reports record progress and achievement of students against the Victorian Curriculum F-10 achievement standards.

Student reports will be available to parents and carers on the Compass Parent Portal at 3.30pm on Monday 18th December.  If you have any difficulties accessing your parent portal, please contact the school office on 9874 6381.

'My Learning' Folders 2023

In 2023, we changed what were our previous Student Learning Portfolios to the 'My Learning' Folder. This folder contains pieces of work chosen by your child to celebrate and display. The students were asked throughout the year to think about the work that they have completed that they are extremely proud to share.

The 'My Learning' folders will be sent home with students on Monday 18th December for families to cherish and keep.

Contacting Your Child at School

It is important that our students are kept safe when working online. Students are not permitted to use their iPads to message or email while at school.

Could we please ask that parents do not contact their children throughout the school day on their iPad. This is disruptive to learning and goes against the iPad user agreement.

We thank you for your understanding. If you need to get in touch with your child, please phone the school office on 9874 6381.
