Principal's Report

What an amazing couple of weeks we have had at Windsor Primary School with the opportunity to celebrate several things that so many people put energy into.

Our ‘re-opening’ celebration on October 14 was truly wonderful.  To see the number of events and activities taking place and the excellent turn out from our local community to vote at Windsor Primary School resulted in a carnival atmosphere.  Generous contributions from the Prahran High School music department and the Windsor Community Bank were highlights.  Well done to our School Council and staff organisers and, to Lynda Lim (mum of Eliza and Emily) who took on the role as chief co-ordinator.

Our Year 3 - Year 6 students attended Ferngully Lodge Camp in Healesville last week, and it too was a celebration of a lot of work by many.  It was great to be part of such an important event for some of our students, such as the first time away from family, first school camp, first time on a giant swing and even the first time seeing some of our Australian native animals.  Thank you to the staff who contributed to the organisation, the staff who attended and the staff who stayed back at school taking on extra duties.  Also thank you to the students for their attitude and behaviour - it is a good camp when the staff have had a good camp.

Another celebration last week was School Council President, Jeff Elliott and myself being invited to the 2023 VSBA School Architecture Awards where JCB and Associates were nominated for best school design for projects over $10 million.  It was wonderful to see images of the school being displayed to the audience and to have Windsor Primary School being acknowledged at such an event.  We were runners up in our category.
