WHOLE SCHOOL TRANSITION

Students had their first opportunity to visit their 2024 Neighbourhoods this morning. This was just our first, of three whole school transition sessions before ‘Meet the 2024 Grades” session scheduled in the last week of term 4. Today’s session had a focus on getting to know the students next years’ spaces.

Whole school transition is the process of preparing students when moving from one school setting to another. Providing students the opportunity to become familiar with new spaces around the school can help reduce any additional worries or anxieties. This program also helps with students’ social adjustments when meeting and making new friends, it provides the students with an increased independence and confidence and provides them with an insight of what to expect in the coming year.

Our Prep students stepped up into the Level 2 area (BER), the Grade 2 students headed over to the Level 3 learning spaces and our Grade 4 students got to check out the Level 4 classrooms. Over the next couple of weeks, the students will meet in different classrooms within their 2024 neighbourhoods. It was lovely visiting all the classrooms this morning and seeing so many happy faces.
