MUSIC

News from the Music Room!
We have a new home upstairs at the end of the corridor which is a great space for moving! …unless the tools next door get tooo loud. Luckily, music can be learnt and explored anywhere!
This week we have been singing and playing a game called Bee Bee Bumble Bee, exploring the difference between Beat and Rhythm and using Solfege hand signs to practice pitch matching.
We are also learning the Midnight Oil song Beds Are Burning for Reconciliation Week. Students have been putting on their best Rock faces to get into the music.
We have been lucky enough to purchase a new digital piano for the Music Room and for Assembly performances. It is a much-needed, good quality instrument that will serve many musical purposes and replaces the current one which has lost lots of notes. We have also purchased some more ukuleles which means we now have NEARLY a class set. The funds for both of these purchases have come from money raised from Parents Battle of Bands! We would not have been able to do this without these funds so make sure you head to the Croxton this coming Thursday night to support the Thornberries!
TPS Choir
The choir is sounding fabulous! We are practicing for Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week and will soon start on the Boite Schools Chorus songs!
We always welcome new members from Gr 1-6 so please come along for a listen if you are interested.
Listen to the two Rounds we are using to warm up our voices.
